Dear friends and neighbors,

We would love to hear from you!

The library is currently developing a master plan that will guide the future development of its buildings and grounds.  We are seeking community and stakeholder input.

The property and the master plan includes the library building, the building that houses La Segunda Secondhand Store and KLDK radio station, the Dixon Cooperative Market, and the area behind these buildings which includes the park/orchard and the garage/book sale building.

This proposed master plan was developed by Thomas Cordova of Teca Architects in collaboration with library staff, the Library Board, and key stakeholders including the Santa Rosa Fiesta Committee, the Carnelian Center, the Dixon Co-op management and Board, and the Embudo Valley Tutoring Association.  Revisions were made following an in-person general community meeting in June 2021 at the library.

Key goals of the plan include:

Please keep in mind that the Master Plan is a long-term plan. Elements of the plan will be implemented as funding allows.

To give feedback:

  1. Please review the two proposed Master Plan designs linked to below.  (Note that there are two files associated with the Master Plan, one that shows the park during fiestas, one that shows the park at all other times.)
  2. Complete this short survey.

Prefer to do this another way? You can also stop by the library to see the documents in person and complete a paper survey, email the library at librarian@embudovalleylibrary.org, or call us: (505) 579-9181 (Mon-Fri 11-6, Sat 11-5).

Additionally, the a basic proposed design for the community center and stage is also attached. The development of the community center and stage is currently partially funded and a high priority. This is the first project of the Master Plan that will be implemented.
